Denver City Officials Strip Family Business of Honors Following ObamaCare Victory

A Colorado family-owned business has won the first step in a Goliath-sized legal battle against ObamaCare’s abortion pill mandate.

By God’s grace, this precedent-setting victory by Alliance Defending Freedom – which is paving the way for many other cases against ObamaCare – stopped the Obama Administration from forcing the Newland family to start providing its employees with insurance coverage that includes abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization, and contraception against their sincerely held religious beliefs.

Prior to this victory over ObamaCare, Denver city officials were planning to celebrate Hercules Industries’ 50th anniversary by honoring the Newland family’s business with a Good Citizenship Award for its generous employee health care coverage, restoration of an historic building, and numerous contributions to the community. The city has since rescinded this honor because of the Newland family’s stance against ObamaCare’s abortion pill mandate. In response to the city’s actions, Colorado Speaker of the House Frank McNulty stepped in and commended Hercules Industries for its outstanding community contributions.
